Internet Speed Test
A real measurement of your connection against the nearest server on Cloudflare's global network: download, upload, latency, jitter and how your connection behaves under load.
- Free, no sign-up
- Open-source Cloudflare engine
- We never store your IP
Test
A full test can use 100–300 MB on fast connections — use Light on mobile data.

Test data goes to Cloudflare only, not to our server. We never store your IP address or send it to analytics; history is kept in your browser.

How it works
- Choose a mode: Light uses under 30 MB and suits mobile data (selected automatically on phones or with Data Saver); Full ramps up file sizes until your connection is saturated, which is more accurate on fast lines.
- First we measure idle latency (ping) and the variation between samples (jitter), then download and upload growing files to and from the nearest Cloudflare server and compute the speed from the browser's timing data.
- During download and upload we measure latency again: the increase over idle is "bufferbloat", graded A+ to F because it causes laggy calls and games while something downloads.
- From the results we rate streaming, gaming and video calls using Cloudflare's AIM criteria, save the result in a history inside your browser, and let you share it as an image.
Frequently asked questions
Why do results differ from other speed tests?
Each site measures against different servers with different methods. We use Cloudflare's network (the same engine as speed.cloudflare.com); Wi-Fi quality, other connected devices and peak hours also affect the result.
Does the test use my data allowance?
Yes. The Light test uses under 30 MB; the Full test can use 100–300 MB or more on very fast connections.
What are good ping and jitter values?
Latency under 30 ms and jitter under 10 ms are great for gaming and calls. Above 100 ms you will notice lag.
Do you store my IP or data?
No. The test talks directly to Cloudflare's servers; we never store your IP or send it to analytics — only an approximate speed range (e.g. 50–100 Mbps) if you accepted analytics cookies. History stays in your browser.
