Tool 01 · Word → RDLC

Turn a Word layout into a working custom RDLC

Upload a 3omar.hs ERP Word report layout (.docx). Its content-control field bindings and repeating sections are parsed on the server and rebuilt as a schema-valid RDL 2016/01 report, ready to open in Power BI Report Builder.

How the Word → RDLC converter works

The converter relies on the standard signals inside 3omar.hs ERP Word layouts, not on guesses tailored to one report.

  1. Export the report's Word layout from 3omar.hs ERP (Report Layouts → Export) and save it as .docx.
  2. Upload it here; we read the field bindings (w:dataBinding) and repeating sections in the body, headers and footers.
  3. Each repeating section becomes a Tablix grouped on Number_<DataItem>; static tables become grids with the same column widths.
  4. Download the .rdlc, open it in Report Builder, then review field types and polish the final layout.

Frequently asked questions

Is my file stored on the server?

No. The file is read during the request and deleted immediately; the generated RDLC stays only in your session until you clear it or the session ends.

Is the output identical to the Word layout?

Content, fields, tables and repeating regions carry over, but positions are computed automatically, so expect some cosmetic tweaks in Report Builder.

What are the file limits?

A .docx up to 10 MB, with at most 300 internal parts and 40 MB uncompressed. Files containing a DOCTYPE are rejected for security.
